Presenter Qualifications:

Maria L. Geisinger, DDS, MS is Professor and Acting Chair of Periodontology and Director of Advanced Education in Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She earned her BS from Duke, DDS from Columbia, and MS and Certificate in Periodontology from UT Health San Antonio. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, she is also a Fellow of the ITI, ICD, and ACD. Dr. Geisinger currently serves as President of the American Academy of Periodontology and has held leadership roles in the ADA and AAP Foundation. She has authored 80+ peer-reviewed papers and serves on several editorial boards.
